Educational program

The master is one year long, of first level, and is divided into 3 teaching modules in which the fundamental themes of Retail Design and the broader system of concepts and values ​​that are part of such a complex discipline are addressed.
For the first 6 months, a different theme is addressed each week through classes, lectures, exercises and educational visits. For the remaining 6 months an internship is scheduled in one of the partner companies.

ReADs educational program (PDF)

The ReADs’ educational program has been designed to provide students with extensive and solid training in Retail Design, with classes given by some of the best professionals in Retail, Design and Architecture worldwide.
The aim of the program is to train Retail Design professionals through a “learning by doing” approach.
Through the different modules it will be possible to acquire the fundamental skills to conceive and design Retail spaces, architectures and experiences for commercial and social places and to have a broad vision on a field, the Retail, which goes far beyond the purely design issues, for embrace themes such as innovation, the progressive integration between the digital world and commerce, the introduction of new technologies in commercial spaces, the evolution of the methods of purchase, distribution and use of products and much more.

Through the different modules it will be possible to acquire the fundamental skills to conceive and design Retail spaces, architectures and experiences for commercial and social places and to have a broad vision on a field, Retail, which goes far beyond the purely design issues, to embrace themes such as innovation, the progressive integration between the digital world and commerce, the introduction of new technologies in commercial spaces, the evolution of the methods of purchase, distribution and use of products and much more.

The weekly visits to the Programme’s partner companies will allow students to learn what are the multiple tools available to a Retail designer.
The educational program is therefore based on a continuous integration between theoretical and practical skills, to train complete professionals able to manage the multiple factors of Retail with confidence and awareness.

The field trip to Sweden will give the opportunity to visit the ITAB company – one of the major European Retail concept suppliers – to learn about the latest technological innovations for Retail, the H&M headquarters in Stockholm, have an overview of the concepts (H&M, H&M Home, COS, & other Stories, ARKET, A-FOUND) of the Swedish Retail giant, and closely study the main achievements of leading international Retail brands in one of the most avant-garde places in this field.

Eventually the internship at the partner companies will be the fundamental chance to make a direct experience of what is the real professional practice.

For those who do not have the possibility, for reasons of time or professional commitments, to dedicate six months to the internship, there is the possibility of carrying out a “project work”.

The educational program of the next edition of the Master is completely similar to that of the 2018-2019 edition and will be published shortly on the ReADs website.
